Montessori Bead Houses – Counting & Number Learning

Description

The bead or pearl houses are a classic Montessori material which helps children to understand how numbers are added and substracted and how numbers can be made up. The product consists of 10 wooden plates having the outline of a house, and each one has its own number and color, corresponding to the Montessori color coding. Each numbered house has different spaces so that children can place rods or pearl sticks to make up all the possible combinations of that number.

The product is ideal for children to understand how numbers between 1 to 10 can be broken down and how many combinations exist for each number. For example. number 4 can be represented as 4 + 0, 3 + 1, 2 + 2, 1 + 3 and and 0 + 4.

The Cuisenaire rods are sold separately.
